Heritage Frederick is a non profit organization who solely relies on the donations of the public. We welcome donations that advance the organization’s mission to preserve and exhibit the culture and history of Frederick County.  We currently seek a broad range type of items that are related to African American history, Hispanic history, Revolutionary War, War of 1812, industrial history, farming history, and business history. Material of particular interest include local artists’ artworks (e.g. Helen Smith), musical instruments, items from any 20th century war veterans or nurses, and items related to holiday tradition and gifts. We are immensely grateful for each and every donation we receive, and we thank the public for thinking of us.

*Please note that Heritage Frederick will only accept items that have direct connections to Frederick County. The items can be about someone who lived or worked in Frederick County, owned by someone in Frederick County, or was made in Frederick County.

Other Ways To Support the Collection

Taking caring 5,000++ items in the collections requires lots of supplies and equipment. In order to ensure the safety and health of our collection, all items are kept in acid-free boxes and folders with acid-free paper or tissue separating each piece. As our collection grows, the need for these supplies continues. We appreciate every donation, either financial or supplies support. No matter the size, it would allow us to continue preserving the history of Frederick County. We thank you for thinking of us.
