Museum Hours:

The Museum of Frederick County History is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.

The Research Center at Heritage Frederick is open by appointment.

Parking

Parking is available everyday at the Church Street Parking Garage located on 17 East Church Street.

There are metered parking spaces along Church Street that have a two hour limit.

Public parking is available after 5:00 PM weekdays and all day on the weekends in the lot between Winchester Hall and our building (at 24 East Church Street) in any of the spaces that do not say “Reserved 24/7”.

Directions

From Washington, DC and points south:
Take I-270 North to the Maryland Route 85 (Buckeystown Pike) Exit North. Continue on Maryland Route 85 North for 1.2 miles to its junction with Maryland Route 355/South Market Street. At the traffic light turn left and continue traveling north for 1.2 miles to East Church Street. Turn right on East Church Street. The Museum of Frederick County History is located a block up on the right side of the street at 24 East Church Street.

From Gettysburg and points north:
Take U.S. Route 15 South to the Rosemont Street exit in Frederick. At the bottom of the ramp take a right and remain in the right lane. Continue a block to the traffic light at West Second Street (near Schifferstadt Architectural Museum). Turn right onto West Second Street and continue for .6 miles past Baker Park to South Bentz Street. Turn right on South Bentz Street and get into the left lane. Go one block to West Church Street and turn left. Continue on West Church Street (becomes East Church Street at Market Street) for four blocks. The Museum of Frederick County History is located on the right side of the street at 24 East Church Street.

From Baltimore and points east
Take I-70 West to the East Patrick Street/Maryland Route 144 Exit. Continue on East Patrick for 1.6 miles to North Market Street (Maryland Route 355). Turn right on North Market and continue one block to East Church Street. Turn right on East Church Street. The Museum of Frederick County History is located a block up on the right side of the street at 24 East Church Street.

From Hagerstown and points west:
Take I-70 East to the South Market Street/Maryland Route 355 Exit. Continue to the traffic light at South Market Street and turn right. Continue on South Market Street for 1.2 miles to East Church Street. Turn right on East Church Street. The Museum of Frederick County History is located a block up on the right side of the street at 24 East Church Street.

From Harpers Ferry and points southwest:
Take U.S. Route 340 East to Frederick, where it becomes Jefferson Street. Continue on Jefferson Street to the traffic light at South Street/Maryland Route 144 East. Turn right on South Street and continue for six blocks to the traffic light at South Market Street/Maryland Route 355. At South Market Street turn left and continue for four blocks to East Church Street. Turn right on East Church Street. The Museum of Frederick County History is located a block up on the right side of the street at 24 East Church Street.
