Story Time Garden and the Loats Little Library Box

Tucked away under the shade of a mature Southern Magnolia tree, our Story Time Garden is a welcoming space  designed with young patrons in mind.  Children can explore and enjoy the numerous garden and nature themed books in the custom built Loats Little Library Box or get creative with the miniature garden play area.  Children should not be left unattended. Prior to leaving, please be sure to return books to the Library Box for others to enjoy.

Other children’s programming and resources include:

  •  Story Time in the Garden and Saturday in the Garden for families
  •  Loats Little Library Box catalog and wishlist
  •  virtual story time in the garden
  •  garden activities for young learners
  •  miniature garden box for creative, imaginative play

The Story Time Garden is open during museum hours and offers families a quiet respite after a visit to the nearby C. Burr Artz Public Library or shopping in downtown Frederick.

Story Time in the Garden is held the third Wednesday of the month from 10 am to 11 am. To RSVP, please visit our Eventbrite page:

Funding for this new space was received from the Mary Gregg Cornish Memorial Fund through the Community Foundation of Frederick County.
